Michael Waterman in residency at 91.3 FM CJTR for April 2020!

multiPLAY artist Michael Waterman was unable to present his live engagement work in Regina due to COVID-19 restrictions, but thanks to the brilliant Amber Goodwyn at CJTR, we were able to set up a fantastic residency for him with the wonderful CJTR.FM for their Plain A.I.R residency. Here is how they describe this residency program:

“What happens when radio is considered a creative space similar to a laboratory, studio or venue, supporting expression and experimentation? Plain A.I.R. is an artist-in-residence radio program that airs on 91.3FM CJTR, Regina’s community radio station. Each month the program features a different local artist, DJ, musician, band or community member as a guest host who programs a month’s worth of live, weekly radio shows. The program airs Saturday afternoons from 3 to 4 p.m. between January and June (Season 1) and September and December (Season 2) in 2020.”

Michael remixed and presented his radio collages with his collaborators in the Mannlicher Carcano group on air with CJTR, and then did live talkbacks on YouTube afterwards with multiPLAY, discussing his process. You can rewatch these if you missed them live, them on our Watch and Listen link at the top of the website. He will be in Regina in April 2021 to present his work at the Dunlop Art Gallery (Sherwood Branch) with plenty of opportunities to join in.
